  4. Never before have I seen a company treat its customers with this level of discrimination.

  10. Hi PS,
  11.
  12. As you do not appear to be a member of our service, it does no good to
  13. have our tracking code on your pages. Indeed, last week I wrote via
  14. the customer support form on your web site asking that the code be
  15. removed, as it was having the effect of slowing down page loads for
  16. your visitors, as well as for our server. Not having received a
  17. response to my message, the popup was our next option. Please comply
  18. with the request and remove the tracking code from your pages, as it
  19. is in your interest as well as ours.
  20.
  21. Thanks,
  22. The Mayor

  53. So your solution is to disrupt an entire online community? Thats pretty low.
  54.
  55. The least you could have done was set it to only show the popup once,
  56. rather than on EVERY single pageload.
  57.
  58. Being a highly-regarded website owner myself, I will recommend to
  59. others that your service be avoided, lest they face disruption if
  60. their accounts expire or lose track.
  61.
  62. At the very least, kudos for the incredibly prompt reply.

  66. The pop-up appears on every page that contains the tracking code.
  67. Rather than waste time writing back and forth about it, the best
  68. recourse is to remove the tracking code.
  69.
  70. As mentioned, it does no good for you to have it on each page
  71. anyway... I suppose the person who first implemented left "without
  72. flushing" as it were.
  73.
  74. And, I will reiterate that I attempted a week ago to contact your
  75. service to apprise you of the urgency of the matter.

  79. I am not an administrator of the site, therefore I can do nothing about it.
  80. And yet, you spam me and everyone else with this popup on every single
  81. page with no way to disable it.
  82. Lots of us at PS, me included, are webmasters ourselves. Same for #TC,
  83. and word spread to there almost immediately. With one foul act, you've
  84. got yourself quite a bad rep on at least 2 communities. Several other
  85. members have already resorted to spreading the warning that
  86. VisitorVille vandalized PS on their own sites, and more claim they
  87. will do so, and one posted the link to your online feedback form
  88. (thats where I myself got the link to it). Just check out PS and do a
  89. search for "VisitorVille".
  90.
  91. Why not join the forum and make a post on the feedback forum? Or
  92. directly PM the admin or one of the mods? Why not make the popup only
  93. appear once? Why not try every other possible means to contact the
  94. current admin before resorting to such an extreme measure?
  95.
  96. Perhaps an apology post to the PS forums is in order, maybe you can
  97. still save whatever semblance of a reputation you still have before it
  98. becomes totally FUBAR.

  102. So you're just a random fetishist flying the flag of the "community"
  103. of which you partake, with no relationship to the so-called company
  104. that is operating this pee website? Give me a break.
  105.
  106. This made me smile, though:
  107.
  108. "Perhaps an apology post to the PS forums is in order, maybe you can
  109. still save whatever semblance of a reputation you still have before it
  110. becomes totally FUBAR."
  111.
  112. If my reputation is at risk by offending a group of urine fetishists
  113. through my operation of a legitimate company, then so be it. May all
  114. the perverts of the world boycott my site. I'll still be okay, while
  115. you shall still be a urine fetishist. ;-) (paraphrase of Churchill,
  116. that, who I don't believe was a urine fetishist, but you never know,
  117. do you)
